This position requires a willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, and scheduled and unscheduled over-time. The role of the Roll Shop Grinder includes, but is not limited to the following:
Operating CNC roll grinding machine and maintaining the quality of the mill rolls
Troubleshooting and maintaining grinders
Coordinating the work flow through the roll shop
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Roll Shop and with rolling process
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous leadership experience
Experience with precision measuring equipment
Experience in a machine shop
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
