Job Summary

Security Officers are required to control personnel/material/vehicles entering and exiting the Protected Area. They will patrol the Owner Controlled Areas, Restricted Owner Controlled Areas, Protected Area and Vital Areas, inspecting gates, doors, barriers, and lighting to ensure they meet required standards. This role will also assist in investigating on-site incidents involving violations of Regulatory Regulations, Company policies and procedures, and State laws. The Security Officers provide area access control during emergency situations (fire, medical, etc), controlling access and preventing unauthorized access during any degradation of the Security System remaining alert at all times while on duty. Additional responsibilities include inspecting and inventorying security equipment to ensure accountability and operability, and performing duties assigned by the Security Shift Supervisor or Response Team Leader.

Job Description

• Acting as a member of the armed response team responsible for the Health and Safety of the Public and Plant to prevent Nuclear Sabotage.


• Operating and monitoring security detection equipment


• Testing of security systems and equipment


• Patrolling assigned areas


• Personnel access control


• Other duties related to maintaining access control of vehicles at the primary access facility


• Visitor Escort and Control.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent


• Previous military, security or law enforcement experience is desired


• Must be able to lift and continuously carry up to 35 lbs


• Must be able to pass all required training and pre-employment screening requirements, including: a background investigation, company physical, stamina and agility tests and drug and alcohol screening


• Must meet all Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements


• Will be required to work rotating shifts, overtime and holidays


• Must be able to climb several flights of stairs during hourly patrols
