HIRING SALARY: $31,255.86 - $34,409.94 annually; all salary calculations will start at the minimum



HOURS: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Admissions Navigator position involves independent, complex, and highly specialized clerical work and reports directly to the Director of Admissions & Recruiting. The Admissions Navigator provides comprehensive support and detailed information about admission and registration processes to prospective and current students, parents, the general public, and faculty and staff via in-person, phone, text, TDX tickets, and email. Monitors and processes assigned daily/weekly reports.




Primary duties include, but are not limited to:




  • Provides comprehensive support and detailed information about admission and registration processes to prospective and current students, parents, the general public, and faculty and staff via in-person, phone, text, TDX tickets, and email. Monitor and process assigned daily/weekly reports.






  • Review and process admission/readmission applications and admissions documents such as Personal Information Change and Change of Program, Permission to Release Records, Request to Prevent Disclosure of Directory Information forms. Reply to email questions regarding admission and registration processes in the departmental email account. Review and manage student holds.






  • Reviews initial Residency Declaration documents for completion and verifies information through Department of Motor Vehicles, State Board of Elections, and other sources as necessary to determine if student is eligible for in-state tuition. Reviews for accuracy and eligibility documentation submitted by students requesting a residency exemptions or waivers and posts appropriate exemption code.






  • Evaluates high school and GED transcripts and posts developmental education exemption, as appropriate. Evaluate official college/university transcripts. Post/evaluate official test scores for AP, Cambridge AICE, CLEP, IB, DSST and Excelsior College Exams. Post and evaluate foreign and military credentials, exemption credit by certification and other alternative credit options including industry certification and Tech Prep. Post/evaluate ACT, SAT, and PERT scores.






MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A standard high school diploma or general equivalency diploma and four (4) years of progressively responsible clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.




SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:


Knowledge of TCC policies and procedures. Knowledge of TCC Admissions & Records/College Registrar policies, procedures, and protocol. Knowledge of the Family Rights and Privacy Act. Knowledge of personal computers and printers. Knowledge of appropriate letter and memorandum formats. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook, particularly Word and Excel. Ability to handle a multi-line telephone. Ability to manage, organize, and supervise office support staff and to coordinate work assignments. Ability to coordinate and provide training for office support staff. Ability to organize and enter data and perform basic data analysis. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work as a team. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work with users of varying technical expertise. Ability to communicate information accurately and effectively. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple work assignments. Ability to make independent judgments. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Ability to file, organize, and retrieve computerized and paper records. Ability to use a keyboard for long periods of time. Ability to operate a personal computer to access, retrieve, and input information. Ability to demonstrate proper telephone etiquette. Skill in keyboarding with accuracy, speed on a personal computer. Skill in operating personal computer software for word processing and spreadsheets. Skill in handling confidential materials.
