Job Description:

The Content Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the digital marketing strategy by managing and optimizing content for Grow Smart Live (GSL). You will work closely with the GSL Product Manager to drive the content ideation, development, curation, and distribution process for publishing content that will educate, inform, and delight growers and retailers.
Your ability to refine content, and ensure it is delivered in digestible, user friendly and an entertaining manner as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and third-party writers is crucial to the success of this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Drive the editorial process from ideation to distribution to ensure quality and timely delivery of content. This includes working in collaboration with cross-functional teams, developing quarterly editorial calendars, repurposing content, managing relationships with content creators, providing feedback, reviewing content for editorial and publishing readiness and compliance.
* Ensure content aligns with the overall content marketing strategy, editorial guidelines, stylesheet, and brand voice.
* As the primary administrator of our custom CMS you will ensure flawless management of content and data hygiene.
* Optimize content according to SEO with keen attention to details (edit and proofread content).
* Prep content distribution for social channels.
* Monitoring user performance engagement metrics/reports as well as prepare and distribute monthly reporting to the wider organization.
* Contribute to the content marketing strategy development to help reach traffic goals and promote a consistent brand identity.
* Provide insight and feedback on continuous improvement and enhancement of the editorial process, content, and system performance.
Required
* Journalism/production skills (news, media, tv, online magazine).
* 2-3 years of SEO copywriting, editing, proof reading and blogging.
* Experience with the creation of digital content as well as being able to manipulate the content based on the targeted media (i.e. blogs, Youtube, channels, etc.) to maximize the best fit.
* Project management and strategic planning.

Skills

* Experience on getting attention quickly and keeping the attention within a specific digital media.
* Leadership and project management skills.
* Content management system proficiency.
* Creative, and graphic design skills (canva at minimum) (preferred)
