This is a hybrid position primarily based in Canton, MA or Louisville, KY. The Control Services department within Global Core Operations supports both Computershare Plans and Transfer Agency businesses in North America. As a department we are responsible for processing all shareholder correction transactions (adjustments) that fit outside of normal processing, Share and Cash Claim processing for external parties, Processing/replacement of FX Draft and FX Wires, the Monitoring of various cash/banking transactions and notifications, and the completion of various reconcilements as well as internal and external regulatory reporting.

This role operates at a regional level and must deliver within delivery guidelines including successful delivery within agreed timeframes and quality standards, working collaboratively across teams.



A role you will love


The Control Services Manager will be responsible for leading 7 direct reports, and indirectly leading a team of 13 staff members as well as the end-to-end operations delivery of all related activities. You will establish quality and productivity standards and approve recommended operating policies and procedures. You will also review and assume responsibility for all decisions regarding staffing, performance goals, performance appraisals, training and development, disciplinary actions, and salary recommendations. Lastly, evaluate and manage department business continuity readiness and implement and test plans to ensure successful execution.

As the Manager for Control Services will also be responsible for assisting their Senior Manager in decisions that will affect the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these specific teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective operational delivery of all Control Services-related activities (Processing of all shareholder correction transactions (adjustments) that fit outside of normal processing. Share and Cash Claim processing for external parties; Processing/replacement of FX Draft and FX Wires; Monitoring of various cash/banking transactions and notifications, and the completion of various reconcilements, as well as internal and external regulatory reporting) and the monitoring of all daily processing and client events to ensure proper execution and department goals and objectives are met.
  • Effective operational delivery of all Control Services-related products and services.
  • Troubleshooting processing problems.
  • Escalate all processing issues that will result in client exposure or a negative impact on Computershare (CPU).
  • Lead a team of people while fostering a positive environment through inclusive engagement, teamwork, active escalation support, and culture.
  • Identify and create professional development goals with each direct report and complete all performance review responsibilities within expected timeframes.
  • Set Team goals and objectives to be achieved in line with agreed expectations.
  • Management of all operational risk and audit controls while ensuring strict adherence.
  • Design and communicate adequate operational Control Services risk controls as required with any functional or process change.
  • Actively lead, implement, and respond to any internal/external audit items findings within agreed timeframes.
  • Operational management of all 3rd party vendors ensuring effective delivery of service, i.e., Banking Partners.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders at an enterprise level (operational management and consulting), for all Control Services-related products and services.
  • Delivery of all management reporting including but not limited to, Budgeting and Forecasting, Financial performance/dashboard reporting, Transactional analytics.



What will you bring to the role?


The Control Services Manager requires a good understanding of work routines and procedures used to support TA and Plans within the remit of Control Services, including primary (SCRIP) and supplemental systems such as ACE/ATP. The role will operate within defined technical and operational procedures of Control Services which will be acquired through on-the-job training and experience.

Key Skills:
  • Financial Services knowledge and industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in managing people or related training of Control services.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services operational processes and controls.
