Job Description:

Leadership and Department Management:


  • Lead a multi-disciplined program management department, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws, including workforce planning, interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and providing for employee discipline when required; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Program Accountability:


  • Be accountable for all aspects of the assigned portfolio of programs, including execution (cost, schedule, and technical performance), production, quality, sustainment, and customer engagement.

  • Ensure program commitments are met and align with overall company strategy and customer requirements.

Project Planning and Execution:


  • Develop comprehensive program plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Oversee the execution of all program activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost constraints.

  • Monitor program progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Stakeholder Management:


  • Collaborate with business leads, project leads, and engineering management to resolve program issues, coordinate resources, and manage design activities.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.

  • Manage customer expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Product Development and Reviews:


  • Participate and/or support product development reviews, project planning, proposal and bid generation, and product requirements generation.

  • Ensure alignment of program goals with product development and business objectives.

Risk and Issue Management:


  • Identify opportunities to maximize revenue and assess risk problem areas.

  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans with the least impact on business and customer objectives.

  • Resolve program issues and conflicts, ensuring timely and effective solutions.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and adjust plans as necessary.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:


  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program performance and progress.

  • Prepare and present program status reports to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Conduct post-program evaluations to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:


  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the program management team.

  • Implement best practices, tools, and methodologies to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Drive innovation in program management processes and practices.

Qualifications:


  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of program management experience in aerospace or avionics, or other related field.

  • 5+ years of functional management - experience leading technical and/or program teams through all phases of the product lifecycle.

  • Familiarity working with ITAR preferred.

  • Ability to operate at a high ethical standard of practice including compliance with all company procedures.

  • Ability to meet tight timelines.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex aerospace manufacturing programs.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in program management tools and software.

  • PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestically and internationally.

  • Strong bid/proposal management skills. Adapt bids across multiple design/build prime and subcontract structures.

  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, standards, and regulations.
