Job Description:

The Visit and Event Coordinator oversees two major campus areas: the prospective student guest experience and campus wide programs and events. They are responsible for all on-campus and virtual guests to ensure they are provided with an excellent customer service experience while gaining a positive perspective of Simpson University. They are also responsible for the implementation of campus wide programs to engage the Undergraduate population, supervising ASBSU and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) in providing inclusive engagement opportunities.

Qualifications:

Demonstrates a lifestyle and personal faith in accordance with the doctrinal and conduct statements of the University.

Bachelor's degree in related field required.

Demonstrates awareness and commitment to effectively establishing relationships and positive communications across multiple dimensions of diversity including race, gender, physical limitations, class, or religious beliefs.

Effective communication, relational and administrative skills.
One or more years of student recruitment experience preferred.
One or more years of event planning experience preferred.
Supervisory experience in an educational environment preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) and experience in or willingness and aptitude to learn, integrated institutional database software.

Ability to use key technology tools such as CRM, SIS and eRez.
Must be a self-starter, plus can train, assist, and motivate student staff toward their goals.
A strong willingness and ability to act as part of a team.
Must be able to properly use tact, diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment.

Essential Functions:

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, communication, and organizational skills in executing job responsibilities.
Communicates effectively and courteously with others including students, administration, employees, parents, guests, and the public in a spirit of respect, teamwork, and customer service.
Attends chapel regularly and engages in student spiritual formation.
Participates as an active member of the Campus Life Staff Team and Admissions Team, one on one meeting with direct supervisor, and other training sessions/ retreats.
Plan and execute prospective student visit events, virtual events, and individual visits.
Facilitates campus wide programming and events that seek to provide inclusive engagement for our campus community including oversight of student clubs and organizations and club events.
Coordinate front desk staffing schedules to ensure that all staff are trained and knowledgeable of personnel and tactful question asking to provide excellent customer service over the phone.
Meet and maintain high-level metrics for visits and new student recruitment established by the Director of Admissions.
Promote Simpson University by traveling to college/transfer fairs, high schools, churches and building relationships with influencers.
Organize visitation area. Keep inventory for visit materials. Coordinate any purchasing that needs to be completed for visits and events.
Assist the Director of Admissions with the selection of recruitment events and communicate required information to remaining staff.
Work directly with all students from the visit and call centers to assure quality sales techniques are being utilized and create a training series for student employees.
Provide leadership, supervision, accountability, scheduling, and training to student staff as they maintain regular contact with prospective students, including ASBSU student government leaders and the Campus Activities Board.
Assists in the Campus Life student leadership selection process and the evaluating, training, and development of the ASBSU and CAB teams.
Participates in Campus Life department huddles (RA Seminar, CAB Collaborative, Spiritual Formation Session) and Campus Life Student Leadership trainings.
Participates in professional development opportunities (CL training, conferences, webinars, and other opportunities as they arise).
Research, recommend, implement, and assess best practices in respective field.
Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by direct supervisor.
Assist in evaluating and improving current recruitment processes, procedures, and strategies.
Maintain a current understanding of various recruitment information including, but not limited to Student Development, Student Support Services, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Athletics, and Academics.
