Summary of the Position:
The maintenance supervisor manages facility, building/ground maintenance personnel and operations ensuring building, grounds and equipment are maintained/repaired in a cost efficient manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: Essential (E)/ Marginal (M)
Prepares work, maintenance and staffing schedule. Assigns work appropriately and ensures services are performed to meet facility needs. (60%) E
Manages equipment purchasing and contract services as necessary. Works with purchasing department on negotiation and any contract work as needed. (10%) E
Ensures compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. Trains staff in safety as necessary. (10%) E
Manages staff of carpenters, plumbers, grounds personnel, etc. including hiring, daily supervision, training, evaluation and disciplinary actions. (5%) M
Assists in additional duties and responsibilities as needed. (5%) M
Makes recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce down time and labor and over-time expenses. (5%) E
Plans, manages and reviews preventative maintenance and repair schedules. (3%) E
Monitors costs and yearly budget. (2%) M
Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.
Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.
Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.
Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

Qualifications:
Ten plus years of experience in maintenance and staff management in the food industry preferred.
General knowledge of: plumbing, electric, machine building, PLC’s and community codes.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Computer skills including Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/planning, AutoCAD software, and Microsoft Excel.
