Position Summary


Mitutoyo America Corporation, a leader in Metrology solutions, is looking for a Field Service Product Installer. The Entry-Level Field Service Installer position offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and kickstart a career in a growing technical field. As an essential team member, you'll be responsible for assisting in the installation, setup, and maintenance of Mitutoyo Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Form and Vision equipment, Precision Measuring Instruments (PMI), and associated software. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided.


 



  • Travel by car is typically within 450 miles from your home.

  • Sometimes you are required to take a plane for a mileage range over 450 miles.

  • Up to 100% travel, M-F with overnight stays, when required.

  • $26.00 - $28.50 per hour.

  • Must have a reliable vehicle.

    • $700 monthly car allowance will be provided.

    • Covered fuel reimbursement when performing service to and from customer approved sites.



  • 1-3 months - initial training program.

    • Additional training programs are possible to facilitate future development and career advancement.

      • Phase 2 Training – PC/Software

      • Phase 3 Training – Verification



    • Advancement opportunities into Field Service Technician level 1, 2, 3 and senior levels.




 


What You’ll Do:



  1. Perform the installation of Mitutoyo CMMs, Form, Vision, and PMI equipment at customer and Mitutoyo sites and Mitutoyo approved sites.

  2. Remove equipment from the crate and place equipment in the appropriate place, removing all shipping brackets.

  3. Perform proper alignment, verification, and ensure functionality of equipment post-installation.

  4. Provide machine verification upon request.

  5. Conduct testing and troubleshooting of any installation issues to ensure communication and equipment accuracy.

  6. Install and configure software packages associated with installation of various equipment.

  7. Ensure MTM sensors are setup and ready for operational use.

  8. Resolve any software and/or hardware issues related to MTM sensors.

  9. Perform installation of new machinery, including clamping and packaging equipment for local showrooms.

  10. Act as point of contact and primary responder for on-site diagnostic needs in the local showroom.

  11. Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment for trade shows under guidance.

  12. Ensure equipment is working properly during trade show events.

  13. Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics and ensure timely setup/breakdown of equipment at trade shows.

  14. Assist Technicians at customer sites as needed.

  15. Ensure installed equipment is ready for certified Technician to connect and operate.

  16. Maintain accurate records of expenses for work-related purposes and timesheets by submitting expense reports and timesheet data promptly.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.


 


Work Environment: Manufacturing, Production Floor, Warehouse, Showroom.


 


Physical Demands: The person in this position needs to lift, move and carry up to 50 lbs.  This position requires lifting, bending, squatting, and reaching.


 


Additional Qualifications:  Valid Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain a U.S Passport Card.


 


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.  Occasionally provide onsite support during weekends for trade shows or urgent customer needs.


 


Travel: Up to 100% travel.  Up to 8 hours driving per day.


 


Required Education and Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training is a plus but not required.
