POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Industry Insights serves as a navigator of the omnichannel marketplace and champions current and future shoppers that inspire the organization to act in their best interest.  This dynamic position assists in designing and delivering industry insights & analytics through a human lens across Constellation Brands’ Beer and Wine & Spirits divisions. 

This position will work independently and collaboratively on various “sprint teams” to shape business priorities – all with the current and future consumer/shopper in mind.  They will work independently and with other team members to bring together disparate data into a synthesized story.  They will use influence to drive adoption of insights across the organization to drive growth. This role requires a highly collaborative work style to execute research & analyses using cutting edge techniques, telling a confident and crisp story, and provoking action.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


  • Collaborate on Sprint Teams across Insights & Analytics Center of Excellence and divisional insights teams to deliver holistic stories centered around key, strategic questions to drive change.  Use innate curiosity about “why we buy” to connect the dots across consumer, shopper, and analytics to deliver holistic & strategic insights/stories that drive impact.

  • Serve as the customer and shopper “navigator” by providing thought leadership & actionable insights to Category Leadership, Sales, eCommerce, and Marketing by providing a holistic view of the Omni shopper & ecommerce marketplace. 

  • Develop insights plan and manage projects from start to finish including setting objectives, identifying data sources, determining appropriate research methodologies, bidding out the project to research suppliers, managing the project, and analyzing and delivering the results to key stakeholders.

  • Champion data & insights from Constellation’s toolbox (IRi, Numerator, Kantar, etc.) in conjunction with custom research to answer strategic business questions.  Enable use of tools across the category management and sales organizations.

  • Execute on leadership standards across quantitative and qualitative methods to understand end-to-end shopping experience and identify levers for growth.  Use tools such as controlled store tests, shopper journey mapping, market structures, decision trees, eye tracking, and custom shelf testing to develop impactful insight stories.

  • Develop collaborative relationships external business partners & research suppliers.  Hold vendors to high standard of research in methodologies, service, and analysis.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This role reports to the Director, Industry Insights, CoE and closely collaborates with other members of the Insights & Analytics CoE as well as Divisional Insights teams, sales, marketing, and growth teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

This role is multi-faceted and requires analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills:


  • Experience in designing different types of custom qualitative & quantitative research including but not limited to virtual shopping, shelf testing, path to purchase, decision trees, market structure, brand/consumer tracking, mobile surveys, focus groups, shop-alongs & store intercepts.

  • Highly motivated with the desire to grow within the organization.

  • Possess a business-owner vs. researcher mindset, motivated and vested in big picture impact of research and insights.

  • Nimble, flexible workstyle and enjoys a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to a widely diverse audience

  • Demonstrates a genuine desire and passion for the alcohol industry

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of marketing research experience in a beverage and/or consumer-packaged goods company with at least 2 years in shopper insights or retail/customer-facing role

  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, & project management skills

  • Well-grounded in fundamentals qualitative & quantitative research tools, including custom and syndicated market intelligence sources, as well as long-established & emerging research methodologies.

  • Power user with syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, IRI, NPD), panel data (i.e. Numerator, 84.51)

  • Power user with experience in excel with the ability to manipulate data, create pivot tables, functions, formulas, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Physical Requirements: Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other equipment, reading, talking and hearing for extended periods of time.
