$54,843 -$64.487 / Annually (Depending on Experience) 

SHIFT: Thursday - Saturday (Shift Times Vary)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:


Under general direction, responsible for the daily supervision of the collections staff which may include: mobiles and/or in-center; ensures compliance with Blood Systems, SOP, FDA and AABB standards; and for ensuring successful blood collection operations.  Is responsible for management of other professional and administrative staff.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations.  Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.

 

Assures quality customer service to all customers.

 

Supervises, trains, evaluates performance, and assists in the hiring of in-center and/or mobile collections staff.

 

Monitors staff compliance to SOP, FDA, and AABB standards; takes appropriate corrective action or reports problems to his/her immediate supervisormanager.

 

Supervises the maintenance and review of donor records, Q/A records, forms, employee time slips, etc., to ensure accuracy and completeness.

 

Assures the satisfactory operating condition, maintenance and repair of all assigned equipment.

 

Assists Donor Care Specialists by interviewing and phlebotomizing of whole or special (i.e. pheresis, auto, directed) donors.

 

Maintains effective and regular communications with the Community Relations department to ensure proper staffing levels at all times, including on-call coverage for holidays and weekends.

 

Works toward achieving productivity goals established by management for work unit.  Provides statistics and reports, as necessary.

 

Maintains inventory and orders supplies as needed.

 

May assist in budget preparation.

 

Maintains awareness and follows all safety procedures as outlined by the Company.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/ Education

 

Vocational technical certification in a healthcare-related area required.

             OR

High school graduate or GED required.

 

Experience

 

Three years previous work experience in a healthcare-related position required.

One year previous supervisory experience required.

Ability to successfully complete all required staff qualifications and supervisory training programs required.

 

Skills/Abilities

 

Proven leadership ability and supervisory skills. 

Effective communication skills in order to deal effectively with staff and donors. 

Excellent phlebotomy technique. 

Physical ability to lift, bend, and reach. 

Excellent customer service skills. 

Able to maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality.

 

Other

 

Able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends. 

Travel out-of-town may be required.
