Portfolio Manager - Commercial Banking:

The individual will partner with the lending/credit team to streamline the underwriting process and the portfolio management of existing credits. The individual will report to the Denver Market division leader.

What You Will Be Doing:

The candidate will work daily with commercial banking team members, as well as our credit partners, to perform the following job functions:


  • Develop credit committee memorandums for new loan requests that will be presented to the Bank’s Executive Management Team

  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of credit requests and make recommendations to mitigate perceived risk

  • Actively participate in client meetings/site visits with the commercial banking team

  • Assist in structuring new credit requests

  • Independently analyze credit and financial information of credit requests to determine the degree of risk associated with the extension of each respective credit

  • Develop a working knowledge of the Bank’s credit/loan policy

  • Monitor the group’s loan portfolio performance including covenant compliance, collateral reporting and risk rating analysis

Qualifications:


  • 2 to 6+ years of underwriting/banking/lending experience

  • Knowledge of commercial credit fundamentals across multiple verticals including, but not limited to, revolving lines supporting working capital needs, equipment financing, owner-occupied real estate, investment real estate (acquisition and construction) private equity sponsor finance, and contractor financing

  • Strong analytical and writing skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to take initiative

  • Willingness to be flexible and accommodate to changing demands
