The starting pay for this position is $17/hour. Hotel and per diem is provided while traveling.

These are entry-level, daytime/full-time positions and travel is required. The technician will travel to the work site for the week and then return home on weekends. Instructor led training will be provided.

A meter installation technician is responsible for updating and installing new metering technology for utilities. Install technicians are assigned work orders for an area and update electric and / or gas meters with advanced metering technology. Basic skills required are computer skills, small hand tools, map reading, and routing.

Responsibilities:

• Properly monitor the care and use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)




• Complete change of service installation of gas modules




• Identify and report meter tampering




• Complete all assigned work in a professional and accurate manner to avoid loss of equipment, ensure proper billing, and properly close out all work utilizing the correct completion or resolution codes




• Promote a safe work environment by actively participating in all aspects of the employee safety program




• Report any unsafe conditions and take actions to prevent personal injuries




• Support our interdependent safety culture by ensuring the safety of fellow co-workers




• Stay focused on the task at hand and promote productivity through good work habits




• Wear company issued uniform, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and identification at all times during working hours




• Perform other duties as assigned

What We Need from You (Our Requirements):

• Familiarity using current technology; smartphone, tablet




• Must be able to communicate in an effective manner in a one-on-one setting and while addressing a group




• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; outdoor experience preferred




• Must pass a drug screen




• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required




• Work well within a group, as well as individually




• Ability to use simple hand tools
