The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City has supervisory and regulatory authority over a wide range of banking institutions and activities within the Tenth Federal Reserve District.  SSR collects, analyzes and delivers financial institutions’ statistical and structure data to various users.  Recognizing the critical uses of these data, the department strives to establish strong relationships with the people who provide and use statistical and structure data and to consistently deliver the highest quality product.

Key Activities:
• Completing assigned core duties including, but not limited to, collecting and analyzing monetary policy, regulatory requirement, bank / holding company, and structure data.  Ensuring data and transactional information are received and delivered in a timely manner and are of the highest quality.
• Responding to inquiries regarding regulatory implications and contacting institutions to resolve problem situations or escalating more complex problems as appropriate including, but not limited to, analyzing and reporting discrepancies.
• Analyzing financial and structure reports by conducting trend and process improvement analyses. 
• Participating in department, division or district assignments.
• Providing input on System assignments by providing commentary on draft papers, testing automated systems, and evaluating recommendations and implementation plans.  May lead portions of assignments at the direction of the project coordinator.  
• Attaining proficiency in basic institutional supervisory / regulatory processes and applications and data analysis tools.  
• Completing select Federal Reserve System developed courses and/or on-the-job training to deepen and broaden functional knowledge.  
• Understanding the financial condition of different types of institutions and how the condition relates to departmental responsibilities.  
• Developing familiarity with related legal documentation and basic regulatory and financial requirements necessary to protect the Reserve Bank.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience; Master’s degree or comparable advanced degree preferred.
• At least one year operational/regulatory banking and financial analysis experience preferred.
• Strong financial, analytical, and problem solving skills preferred.
• Experience with or demonstrated aptitude for data analytical tools preferred.
