HR Assistant – Part-Time/Temporary 3 Month Assignment

We are looking for a part-time and temporary 3 month assignment HR Assistant who is responsible for supporting the HR Team with administrative duties including maintenance of personnel records, managing HR documents, maintaining employment data in the internal databases/HRIS, and coordinating interviews and meetings   This position supports all functions within HR to include recruiting, training, and benefits.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Organize and maintain personnel records

  • Update internal databases/HRIS to ensure compliance and consistency of data

  • Coordinate meetings and interviews for internal employees and external candidates

  • Create regular reports and presentations to generate HR metric reports

  • Answer employee questions regarding HR-related issues

  • Assist recruiting, benefits, and payroll by providing relevant employee information and maintaining the HRIS

  • Participate in HR projects (e.g., employee luncheons, open enrollment, job fair events, etc.)

  • Support direct hire and temp-to-hire recruitment of light industrial, technical, and office/clerical needs to include coordination of background/reference checks and drug screening. Coordinate travel and itinerary for applicants

  • Coordinate on-boarding activities/interviews and support the delivery of New Hire Orientation

  • Track, monitor, and analyze metrics within assigned area of responsibility and makes recommendations for improvement

  • Generate departmental reports

  • Department representative to assist in resolution of employee issues

  • Audits and approves vendor invoices for accuracy and timely payment

  • May assist with compliance of annual reporting requirements (OSHA, EEO)

  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Job Requirements:


  • Must be able to work part-time.

  • Must possess a High School Diploma. Pursing Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, or related field of study highly desired.

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  Knowledge of HRIS software experience is desired.

  • Familiar with federal and state employment laws.  Familiar with social media for recruiting (Linkedin, Twitter, Indeed, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.

  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to cross-train to support the needs of the organization.

  • Must possess excellent customer service, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.  Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must possess valid state driver’s license.

  • Must have excellent integrity, initiative, interpersonal savvy, adaptable, problem solving, plan and organize, attention to detail, accountable, assertive, innovation and safety skills.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Must have excellent communication skills because of daily contact with all departments and must be comfortable training groups of employees.  Must communicate in a clear and concise manner, have good listening skills, be confident, assertive and respectful.

  • Must be fluent in English which includes reading: the ability to read and understand words written in English, writing: the ability to formulate written words in English, comprehending: the ability to follow and understand speech in English and speaking: the ability to produce speech in English and be understood.

  • Must possess good math.

  • Must possess critical thinking skills.

  • Must be able to pass background check, drug test, credit check and reference checks.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
