Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Trainer performs new hire and existing employee training in the Customer Care Center with guided direction from the department supervisor or designee while following all laboratory policies and procedures. In this position, the Trainer supports Exact Sciences through subject matter and training expertise which ensures that all team members are trained properly to ensure competencies are successfully met. In addition, the Trainer assists in maintaining accurate data reporting practices to ensure consistent and diligent capture of training and competency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    All assigned job duties are performed following laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Delivers training exercises to meet training objectives.

  • Provides subject matter and adult learning expertise in the development and design of training exercises.

  • Identifies training needs by assessing overall status of employee and departmental needs.

  • Develops and administers written and practical exams to assess trainees' performance.

  • Responsible for retraining employees as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify trainee needs and tailor training plan to more effectively present material.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing workload and circumstances effectively.

  • Ability to respond to new information quickly.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and motivating others, even when not in a position of authority.

  • Demonstrated experience coaching and developing others in adult learning best practices.

  • In accordance with ES Labs record retention policy, maintains accurate records of training.

  • Collaborate with other trainers, cross-functionally, to ensure consistency in training and re-training processes across the lab team.

  • Excellent time management skills. Employee must also be disciplined, self-motivated & reliable.

  • Must be able to remain focused on a task and work independently without constant supervision.

  • Motivated to perform quality work; diligent about arriving to work on time and completing tasks that are assigned in a timely manner.

  • Maintains a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and build solid working relationships with peers at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and focus on quality output.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work designated schedule.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to work seated for approximately 30% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 70% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Associate degree; or HS/GED and 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • 2+ years of peer to peer training or education experience.

  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with the Epic EHR.
