Description:

The Power Systems Project Manager is responsible for providing information and training on company products, services, applications, and system design as well as the coordination of engineering and sales support for products and services provided by Riggs Power Systems. Project Managers also deal with logistical issues and use their project management skills to help reach all organizational goals. This position primarily supports the outside sales territory managers covering the state of Arkansas. Also, provides support to other power systems teams members including those handling power systems services.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage on-line bidding sites – review upcoming projects and track bid dates, assist sales staff by communicating all sales leads found.
  • Work with sales staff to determine project specific requirements, run project quotes via available quoting programs and draft customer proposals.
  • Provide support with drawing dimensions, pad layouts, and wiring schematics as needed.
  • Work with customers to support the site preparation, installation, interconnect wiring, and commissioning coordination of the equipment provided for each project.
  • Maintain and update sales project files.
  • Communicate order forecasts and sales numbers to Caterpillar monthly.
  • Track all orders and manage sales process from order to project close-out.
  • Maintain product inventory whether it is for stock or assigned to projects.
  • Compile close-out documents needed for project completion (i.e. Operating & Maintenance manuals, warranty documentation, keys, maintenance sales handoff, etc.).
  • Be a liaison between Riggs and manufacturers to address potential issues or to stay up to date on products and services.
  • Handle inside sales for all projects requiring a generator sized at 200kW and smaller. This would be handled as an inside sales perspective and will not necessarily require outside sales duties.
  • Participate in events that promote products and services offered by Riggs Power Systems. This could be trade shows, organized industry events, customer sponsored events, sales training, or other opportunities to support the sales territory managers and customers.


Requirements:

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be able to function well in a high volume and fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend information received via computer terminal, specification reports, financial contracts, technical/business correspondence and reports.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. frequently.
  • A valid driver's license is required with clean driver's records. Company provided vehicle to use where needed to perform duties of the position. Role requires some travel including overnight stays.

  • Position will require reaching, grasping, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, for contact with customers and co-workers.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Employee must be able to lift 25 lbs of force occasionally and 10 lbs of force frequently.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Work environment is 75% in the office while 25% visiting jobsites, customers, and other groups involving the project.

Overnight travel is expected to be 3-4 nights each month.
