Job Title: Courier/DriverJob Code: TRS010/Ground Transportation Worker Shift: Full-Time (40 hours per week on averageJob Hours: Day: 40 hours - Monday through Friday; 8:00am 5:00pmBase Location: Gwinnett/Rockdale/Newton Counties Division/Department/Program: Business Services

Under direct supervision, passengers and/or mail and materials in an assigned geographical area traveling by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, automobile, van or public conveyance. Learns to transmit, receive, and relay radio communication among remote office base stations and mobile units. Some positions may transport medications and emergency drug boxes from the pharmacy to the units and from the units to the pharmacy.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Safely transports daily medications and pharmaceuticals (securely sealed), interoffice mail, US mail, supplies, equipment, medical charts, or other materials to and from various destinations and makes bank deposits as needed. Drives an assigned route and makes ad hoc runs as assigned. Notifies supervisor of any accidents, mechanical breakdowns or other incidents and follows required protocols and reporting requirements.Keeps assigned vehicle clean and performs routine maintenance from a checklist (fluid levels, coolant, brake/transmission/power steering fluids, tire pressure). Inspect vehicle for presence of safety equipment. Notifies supervisor of needs for preventive maintenance and repairs. Regularly fuel vehicle.Accurately records trip data (mileage, fuel consumption, courier checklist, maintenance, and repair needs, etc.). Turn in reports and other documentation by daily, weekly and monthly deadlines. Assist with basic business office duties during down times, including but not limited to filing, packing and preparing boxes for internal/external delivery, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND ability to operate heavy equipment and large vehicles AND valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle report.

Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds,Requires long periods of sitting/standing,Must be 21 years of age,Must have valid Georgia drivers license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.Other duties as assigned.
