As the Corporate Controller, you'll work alongside our CFO, playing a pivotal role in supporting and managing financial activities while ensuring compliance and contributing to strategic decision-making that fuels the health and growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy of the Company’s financial statements through oversight of the general ledger and consolidation process. Identify and lead process improvements to improve the accuracy and timeliness of month-end close activities.
Lead the annual financial statement audit process. Work with external tax firm to ensure all tax returns are filed timely and accurately, including any required quarterly estimates.
Lead the annual FAR overhead audit process.
Collaborate with department heads to gather data and shape annual budgets and forecasts.
Partner with the CFO to monitor budget variances, offering insights and recommendations for enhancement.
Contribute to establishing and nurturing internal control processes to safeguard company assets.
Assist with financial due diligence for potential acquisitions. Lead the Purchase Accounting process for acquisitions completed and assist with integration activities.
Prepare the quarterly cash forecast and communicate upcoming cash needs to relevant parties.
Review the work performed by our finance and accounting teams.
Work closely with the CFO to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
CPA certification with a minimum of 7+ years' experience in finance and accounting; AEC industry experience preferred but not required.
Experience managing external audit processes.
Operational finance experience, including cost accounting and planning.
Expertise in accounting principles (specifically US GAAP), procedures, internal controls, and sales and use tax regulations.
Proficiency in Deltek and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
M&A experience including due diligence and acquisition integration.
Experience with accounting systems upgrades and integration.
Experience working in the finance function of a private-equity backed portfolio company
