Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Sr. Hardware Engineer-Power Electronics located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Sr. Hardware Engineer role involves designing the electrical functionality of a product and responsibility for specifications, component selection, circuit design, electrical testing and final product electrical performance.

What a typical day looks like:


  • Write high-level and/or detailed Design Specifications

  • Select components based on Flex and/or customer Approved Vendor List to support technical requirements and meet Flex supply chain needs

  • Schematic design & PCB Stack-up

  • Technical supervision of CAD resources. In some cases may also be responsible for CAD work.

  • Review of Design for Manufacturing and Testability reports to maximize production yields

  • Prototype board bring-up, test, validation, debug and documentation

  • Support for manufacturing prototype, pilot and mass production builds

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:


  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

  • Automotive industry experience required

  • Must have experience with worst-case circuit analysis

  • HW Design or circuit design experience
