Job Description:

Key Activities/Responsibilities



  1. Ensure all employs follow industry standards for health and safety.

  2. Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels.

  3. Recruit, retain and develop outstanding people who will flourish in a team-based environment. Responsible for the selection, performance management, and disciplinary activities for all direct reports with oversight to these activities for area within scope of responsibility.

  4. Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or quality.

  5. Functions as a key member of the MRL leadership team with responsibility to champion and lead the implementation of lean manufacturing principles. Shares the responsibility to define and implement initiatives required to achieve our Operations Activity Diagram and mission statement.

  6. Provide motivation, support and guidance to employees.

  7. Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.   

  8. Ensure daily execution of dispatch lists according to demand driven by the Master Assembly Schedule in order to meet customer quality and delivery requirements. Responsible for managing manufacturing and paint capacity to ensure work orders are produced on schedule and changes in future demand are addressed with minimum supply disruption. Also manages Service part demand effectively to meet customer demands.

  9. Plan, schedule and implement capital projects, which support our annual plans and meet or exceed Corporate ROI goals.

  10. Plan, implement and measure continuous quality improvements to support our high value product position. Implement and manage prevention-oriented quality assurance procedures and practices to ensure customer satisfaction with our machines and ISO9001 compliance.

  11. Create and manage appropriate expense budgets within volume adjusted amounts to ensure continuous improvement of expenses as a % of sales.

  12. Responsible for continuous improvement of overall process productivity and asset utilization within scope of responsibility.

  13. Ensure safe practices through a clean, organized and visual workplace.

  14. Support new product development programs to ensure project quality, cost and schedule targets are achieved.

  15. Shared responsibility for the installation, operation and maintenance of consumption-based material systems utilizing pull signals on regular usage parts to reduce WIP inventory.

  16. Keep abreast of the latest in manufacturing technology and implement appropriate changes.

  17. Promote ongoing Human Resource development through training and the development of High-Performance Work teams.

  18. Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.


Operate or tend painting machines to paint surfaces of transportation equipment, such as automobiles, buses, trucks, trains, boats, and airplanes. Includes painters in auto body repair facilities.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Mix paints to match color specifications or vehicles' original colors, stirring or thinning paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment.


Select paint according to company requirements and match paint colors, following specified color charts.


Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner. Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.


Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings.


Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thickness. Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes.


Remove accessories, such as chrome or mirrors, from vehicles and mask other surfaces with tape or paper to protect them from paint.


Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.


Select the correct spray gun system for the material being applied.


Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces to prepare vehicles for painting. Apply rust-resistant undercoats and caulk and seal seams. Sand and apply sealer to properly dried vehicle finish.


Sand vehicle surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats. Buff and wax the finished paintwork. Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.


A minimum of 3 year work related experience.  A minimum of 5-years experience in a Supervisory/Leadership role is required. 


Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.


Must be able to pass Fork Lift Certification process Possess basic computer operating and data entry skills with knowledge of shipping software. Ability to use pallet jack and overhead crane preferred.
