Duties and Responsibilities | Summary: Provides high level executive and administrative support to the Dean, handle matters that are of a confidential and/or sensitive nature, manage personnel matters of the Office of the Dean, and assist in the development of the budgets submitted by all departments in the College of Professional Studies. Other: Serves as budget officer for the Dean’s Office; reconciles and reviews the departmental budgets; approves all departmental purchase requisition requests; recommends personnel actions and training; maintains open lines of communication with internal and external constituents on behalf of the Dean; serves as the official timekeeper inclusive of reviewing time entry for accuracy and ensuring timely submittal; serves as a troubleshooter, providing intervention and problem-solving around issues that may arise during the course of the day; interacts with Vice Presidents, Deans, Chairs, and the President’s Office in implementing and executing various tasks and assignments; informs the Dean on matters which require immediate attention; replies to routine inquiries as directed; researches and assembles data dealing with budgets, reports, employee issues and other matters; assists in the administration of policies and procedures; reviews and/or create packages for new hires and forwards documents to the Provost’s Office for approval; maintains employment contracts and all personnel correspondence on all faculty and staff; and performs other duties as assigned. |
Education | Bachelor’s degree required. |

Experience | Three (3) years of administrative support and budget management preferred. |
Knowledge Skills and Abilities | Comprehensive knowledge of and skill in the practical application of office practices, procedures, and equipment; good written communication skills; general knowledge of and skill in the use of word processing, data bases, spreadsheet software, and PeopleSoft; skill in composing a variety of correspondence and operating office equipment. Ability to project a professional positive image; to interact with students, public officials and staff at all levels in a courteous and efficient manner; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute complicated and continuing assignments. |
