Duties and Responsibilities	Actively engage with prospective students, parents, and the community through telephone, email, virtual opportunities, and other channels to promote the university and program offerings Review admissions files for transfer/freshman applications for determination of admissibility in accordance with university policies and procedures Maintain accurate records of applicant information, communication, and admissions decisions within our university system and internal tracking process. Conduct outreach to applicants to verify any application issues, including discrepancies or missing information Evaluate transcripts for admissions and transferability of college credits Respond to student inquiries regarding the admission process and procedures and the transferability of credit and related academic information. Attend recruitment activities as assigned, including college fairs, school visits, and information sessions Perform other duties as assigned by the Transfer Admissions Coordinator

Minimum Qualifications

Education	Bachelors degree preferred
Experience	One (1) year of experience with student admissions in a college/university environment preferred; especially with transfer students
Knowledge Skills and Abilities	• Work patiently and supportively with prospective students, applicants and their families • Excellent interpersonal and phone skills • Great organizational skills • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Microsoft Word and Excel required • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service • Ability to collect and analyze data relate to students admissions and recruitment
Conditions of Employment	Travel in and out of state, evening, and weekend hours will be required Please be advised, COVID-19 vaccinations are not required but encouraged for faculty and staff to be employed at Bowie State University.
