The Medtronic Diabetes organization is looking for a Senior Manager to join our Software Operations Organization in the defining of priorities for evolving our Shared Services platform as a product by balancing the inputs from internal and external stakeholders.

The Mobile Apps Senior Manager will oversee the execution of the mobile app portfolios that support users within the Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) and Multiple Daily Injections (MDI) user space. The Mobile Apps group is made up of Software Technical Program Managers (STPM) and Software Product Owners (SPO). These two roles are paired together and work closely on each program to ensure the product definition and scope is clearly defined. This group is ultimately responsible for defining the "What" and the "Why" for work direction at the team level to maximize value of the platform to the business and customers. A Day in the Life

In general, the following responsibilities apply to theMobile Apps Senior Manager role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:


  • Supports team of STPMs and SPOs spanning both AID and MDI Mobile App space
  • Responsible for setting goals for the team and driving strategies to help team achieve goals
  • Responsible for driving alignment and consistency across processes within the Mobile Apps portfolio
  • Liaison between Mobile Apps team and cross-functional groups to identify and manage dependencies and align timelines
  • Partners with leaders and stakeholders within adjacent groups to ensure alignment across projects ensuring a cohesive customer experience across the Mobile Apps portfolio
  • Active change agent within the Software Operations and Software Development organization, helping the team(s) and the broader organization assimilate to change
  • Responsible for driving quality and on time delivery across the Mobile Apps portfolio

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field and 7+ years of Software Engineering, Product Development, or Product Management experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Or, Advanced Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field and 5+ years of Software Engineering, Product Development, or Product Management experience with 5+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have


  • 5+ years' experience in product management, product development or related field.
  • Lean Mindset and proven experience around 'Build, Measure, Learn (repeat)'
  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve
  • Team oriented - ability to motivate and work well with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers.
  • Medical device product/industry/technical acumen
