$20.05 - $23.30 Per Hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Duties may include Responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or General Accounting including computer data entry. Identify, research, and resolve payment and/or billing discrepancies. Contact customers or other departments to resolve problems. Perform accounting and clerical functions associated with distribution of daily vendor checks and banking reports. Maintain records pertinent to the accounting functions. Perform auditing functions. Analyze general ledger accounts as assigned. Ensure invoices and purchase orders are processed accurately and all discounts are taken.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Perform Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or General Accounting duties.
  • Contacts customers, vendors, or other departments when necessary.
  • Responds to inquiries from customers, vendors, or other departments and make decisions regarding account status or invoices.
  • Ensures proper application of all payments received and/or payment processing.
  • Ensures that data workflow is accurate, complete, compiled correctly and input timely.
  • Responds to requests from Managers and other departments.
  • Inputs check authorizations for invoices due each day.
  • Works safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responds to all calls within established goals.
  • Works with the tax and credit departments to resolve disputes.
  • Acquires knowledge of other accounting clerk's duties and responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Work within and promote corporate values.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Must have interpersonal and communication skills to assist customers in a positive, professional manner.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to plan and set priorities for accomplishing tasks and goals.
  • Must be able to make sound, independent accounting judgments.
  • Must be detail oriented to implement new procedures and analyze accounts.
  • Must be able to use a calculator and keyboard by touch.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Some college level accounting courses and/or equivalent accounts receivable, accounts payable, or accounting experience.
  • Prior Empire accounting experience.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
