Description: Our client is currently seeking a System Engineer 2 to work remotely!!
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Primary role will be assisting in integrating legacy systems into our environment, planning, implementing and maintaining existing systems and infrastructure. Other duties include installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools and ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Assist in administrating mostly Windows based server platform infrastructure. Intermediate knowledge of Linux systems is required.
Provide subject matter expertise in planning and designing a secure server infrastructure
Gather requirements, design, test and implement compute and storage solutions for existing and new applications
Provide expertise in assessing and implementing strategies for on-prem to cloud migration
Monitor, administer and support all server and storage platforms
Provide support for any problems associated with infrastructure resources and applications
Install, configure, and maintain server software and hardware
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience
Minimum of 8 years experience supporting a Windows server environment
Must have advanced programming or scripting skills in PowerShell or other scripting languages.
Advanced level knowledge and skills with Active Directory, Windows Server, VMWare, Pure storage, SCCM, and cloud-based solutions.
3 years' experience with Azure and/or AWS compute and storage
3 years' experience and solid understanding of storage, virtualization and cloud offerings
Additional Success Factors: MCSE/MCITP, VCP, Azure, AWS or Citrix certifications are a plus
