Post Award Grant Analyst Lead at University of Oklahoma

Job Description:

Provides a broad range of post-award activities and award management procedures that support OU's grant accounts by providing guidance and oversight on issues related to the fiscal, administrative, and regulatory management of grants programs.


Duties:



  • Reviews account setup and cost transfers of lower-level staff and provides training and guidance.

  • Provides second-level review of all sponsored program accounts, corrects journals, verifies accuracy of data submitted to sponsors, and directly reconciles a large and complex portfolio of sponsored projects.

  • Leads sponsor audit activities to ensure overall compliance of University sponsored project programs; performs direct compliance reviews.

  • Reviews invoices and financial reports for sponsored grants and contracts.

  • Ensures that grant details are current and ensures system captures all information needed for internal and external reporting requirements.

  • Assists with maintaining award-related schedules, preparing applications and reports.

  • Trains personnel lower-level post-award staff regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Provides information to department staff, principal investigators, vendors, and management.

  • Gathers supporting documentation for audits.

  • Meets with auditors/sponsors to discuss grant financials and compliance.

  • Assists PIs, faculty members, and staff across campus with following appropriate processes and understanding allowability of expenditures; ensures quality of information disseminated and handles escalated questions and issues.

  • Performs various forms of research, information gathering, problem solving, and interpretation of policies and procedures related to grant/contract compliance.

  • Identities early close-out circumstances, ensure all expenditures have been posted to the correct accounts, and maintain all official documents.

  • Serves as the point of contract on audits.

  • Coaches, trains, and mentors junior department staff and ensures deadlines are met.

  • Oversees training across the University on sponsored program topics.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education and Experience:   Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or business-related field.



  • 60 months of experience of contract administration or related experience. Experience working with large consortium/collaborative grants, contracting, and subcontracting awards

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Ability to organize workload priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Standard office environment


Departmental Preferences:



  • Peoplesoft, ECRT experience

  • ERP Financial Software

  • CPA OR CRA certification preferred

  • 12 hours of accounting and 6 business law
