Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining the bag machine equipment. Efficiently maintains the bag machine manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturing orders (MO) and the production schedule and includes technician level troubleshooting and problem solving. Compliance with company operating, safety and housekeeping procedures, practices, and policies. Responsible for the color matching of product prints.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that Manufacturing schedule is being followed. Responsible for maintaining the bag machine throughout the shift. Responsible for setting up prints which includes matching colors and quality to customer specifications. Completes change overs to change from one Manufacturing Order (MOs) to the next to keep in accordance with scheduling needs and changes. Inspects entire machine to ensure the web is threaded correctly for the job, all components (rollers, ink, etc.) are installed properly, and all mechanisms and other parts and assemblies are operational. Organizes work area in a clean and efficient manner to perform processes according to established standards, productivity levels, housekeeping, and safety requirements. Ability to troubleshoot the bag machine efficiently to correct the problem while reducing the down time on the machine. Informs supervisor of mechanical problems when they occur. Proposes machine modification and upgrades to improve production and quality of products. Performs all operations in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA laws, company policies, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), while maintaining a consistent production measure in accordance with all work instructions and manufacturing orders (MO). Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and management staff. This position will train as a bag operator before being moved into the machine technician role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School or trade school graduate or equivalent GED. Able to read and write; able to understand policies, manufacturing orders (MOs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and other work instructions. Basic math and computer skills. Able to effectively communicate for collaboration of work and delivery of supplies to and from machine as needed. Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity. Must be able to work standing or walking most of the workday and able to frequently lift 45+ pounds. Able to work with sharp tools and wear hearing protection as required. High visual effort will be required to ensure print appearance and ink color match.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of manufacturing experience.
